What began in Houston, Texas evolved into a luxury brand rooted in education, transparency, and elevated beauty. At a time when the hair industry was saturated with confusion and misrepresentation, Mr Indian Hair was built to challenge the standard and offer something real.

Our founder, James Haynes, originally from Los Angeles, relocated to Houston in 2007 with a purpose. The industry was filled with products labeled “raw,” “virgin,” or sourced from exotic origins, while much of the hair being sold was heavily processed, chemically altered, or misrepresented. Mr Indian Hair was founded to bring authenticity back to the industry and create a new standard for luxury hair.

From day one, our mission has been rooted in two principles: education and authenticity. We don’t just sell hair — we help customers understand the value of true raw Indian hair and what separates it from mass-produced alternatives.

We specialize exclusively in 100% raw Indian hair ethically sourced directly from India, collected from single donors, fully cuticle-aligned, and completely free from chemical processing. The result is hair that delivers unmatched longevity, natural movement, softness, and versatility.

As the brand expanded, so did its reach and influence. In 2011, Mr Indian Hair partnered with Keith Babin, merging with Shades of Ebony Hair to strengthen its foundation and broaden its impact. In 2012, alongside Kehlin Farooq, the company opened a retail location in Houston’s historic Third Ward — bringing luxury hair directly into the community it was built to serve.

Today, Mr Indian Hair has returned to its roots in Los Angeles, California, evolving into an exclusively online luxury experience. This transition allows us to serve customers nationwide while maintaining the same commitment to quality, transparency, and elevated beauty.
